♿️ About Phoenix carbon fibre electric wheelchair
The Phoenix is our lightest folding electric wheelchair, built from carbon fibre throughout including the rims. The heaviest single lift piece is 12.3kg, which makes it genuinely manageable into most UK car boots, even for users travelling on their own. You can choose a 45cm or 52cm seating width, and the twin 12Ah batteries give up to 27 miles of range per charge. Cushion and backrest upgrades in leather or linen are available at configuration. Each Phoenix is set up and tested in the UK before dispatch, with free UK delivery, eligible VAT relief and our 30-day home trial included as standard.
📋 Phoenix specifications at a glance
The Phoenix folds from a full-size powerchair into a compact package with a heaviest single lift piece of 12.3kg. The frame is carbon fibre throughout, including the rims. Seating width is 45cm or 52cm, chosen at configuration. Twin 12Ah lithium batteries power a brushless motor, giving up to 27 miles of range on a full charge. Noise sits below 50 decibels in normal use. The chair accepts cushion and backrest upgrades in leather or linen at order, with several colour options in each. Configuration also covers frame colour where applicable. Every Phoenix is pre-configured and tested in the UK before dispatch, and comes with free UK delivery, eligible VAT relief and our 30-day home trial.
⚙️ Carbon fibre frame: what it means in daily use
The carbon fibre frame is the reason the Phoenix weighs what it does. In practical terms, you'll notice three differences against an aluminium chair of similar specification. Lifting into a car boot is easier, because the heaviest piece is around 5 to 8kg lighter than a comparable folder. The chair feels steadier on uneven UK pavements, because carbon fibre flexes less than aluminium under load. And it transports more easily through airports, stations and hotel lobbies, because you can manage most of the chair yourself. The trade-off is cost — carbon fibre sits at the upper end of the price range. For users who lift the chair daily or travel regularly, the weight saving tends to justify the investment over time.
🎯 Choosing your seat width, cushion and colour
The Phoenix is offered in two seat widths: 45cm for average UK builds and 52cm for broader hips or heavier winter clothing. Measure your hips at the widest point while seated and add 3 to 4cm for comfort. The standard cushion and backrest are a quality fabric included with the chair. For an additional cost at order, you can upgrade to leather — wipe-clean and firmer for longer sits, in black, blue, coffee brown, tabac brown or royal purple — or linen, which is softer and breathable in warmer weather, in bordeaux red, sage or charcoal. Choose your configuration at checkout and the chair arrives set up. Our UK team is happy to talk through the options before you decide.
