βοΈ About our travel wheelchair range
Our travel wheelchairs are designed for life on the move. Whether you're heading to the Lake District for a weekend, flying to Spain for a fortnight, or just catching the train to see family, these models are built to fold quickly, lift easily into a car boot, and travel as luggage. Most weigh under 25kg when fully assembled, with the heaviest single piece under 20kg once folded β making car loading manageable on your own or with light help. Several models in this collection are airline cabin-friendly under standard battery rules, though we always recommend confirming with your airline before flying. Every chair comes with UK warranty support, free UK Mainland delivery, eligible VAT relief, and our 30-day home trial.
βοΈ How to choose a travel wheelchair
Three things matter most for travel: weight, fold size, and battery type. For car travel, focus on the weight of the heaviest piece β anything under 20kg sits comfortably in a saloon boot or hatchback. For air travel, check that the battery is under 300Wh (most ComfyGO travel models qualify) and that the chair folds compact enough to meet baggage handling rules. If you'll travel by train, fold time becomes important β auto-folding models with a remote control let you fold the chair from a seated position, which makes platform changes easier. Our UK team is happy to talk through your typical travel patterns before you commit.
π« Flying with your wheelchair
Most ComfyGO travel wheelchairs are accepted on UK and European airlines under the IATA Lithium Battery Guidelines, but rules vary by airline and the specific model. Before your flight, contact your airline at least 48 hours ahead, share the chair's battery specification (we'll provide this on request), and confirm whether the chair travels in the cabin or hold. Most carriers transport mobility equipment free of charge. If you're a first-time flyer with a powerchair, call us on 0330 520 0720 and we'll talk you through the steps.
