The Auto Folding variant keeps the fixed backrest but folds itself at the press of a button, removing the bending and lifting that some users find painful. The Auto Folding + Manual Recline combines self-folding with a hand-operated backrest recline — the recline is manual rather than motorised. Choose based on which features solve a real daily problem. Auto recline earns its cost if you spend most of the day in the chair, or if sitting in a fixed position becomes uncomfortable after an hour or two. A powered backrest lets you shift pressure from the joystick without standing or transferring, which matters for skin health and general comfort. Carers benefit too — they can watch the user adjust themselves rather than helping manually. If you use the chair mostly for short trips out and spend most of the day on a sofa or easy chair, auto recline may be more feature than you need. A manual fold Standard IQ-9000 covers daily use at a lower price. The 30-day home trial applies to either choice, so you can judge comfort in your own home.

All IQ-9000 variants offer a 45cm or 51cm seat width. Measure your hips at the widest point, add 3 to 4cm for comfort and seasonal clothing, and choose the closest size. The battery is a twin 7.5Ah lithium pack shared across all variants, giving up to 19 miles of range per charge and meeting airline watt-hour limits for cabin travel.
